Meet the expectations of Te Kawenata Tamariki o Waitaha | The Canterbury Children’s Charter by following these self-review steps:

  • Reflect on the expectations of tamariki and review your organisation’s systems, practices, and processes from an equitable-practice lens
  • Reflect on the expectations of whānau and hapū of Ngāi Tūāhuriri and review your organisation’s cultural-competency capability (engagement, practice and delivery)
  • Develop a cultural responsiveness plan that identifies key areas your organisation will focus on to improve (professional learning and practice improvements)
  • Share the stories of how your work with tamariki aligns with the principles of Te Kawenata Tamariki o Waitaha.

You can respond to tamariki and make changes in your organisation by actively questioning and reviewing your behaviours and practices.
